Emergency: 514-900-3308Five steps for an active leak.
- 01
Stay clear of electrical hazards
Do not enter standing water near electrical equipment or touch a wet panel, switch or appliance. Leave the affected area and call emergency services if there is immediate danger.
- 02
Shut off the water if safe
Use the fixture shutoff or main water valve only if you can reach it safely. Do not force a seized valve. If you cannot locate or operate it, tell the plumber.
- 03
Protect belongings only when safe
Keep people away from the affected area. Move dry belongings out of reach if it is safe; avoid sewage or contaminated water. Take photos for your insurer without putting yourself at risk.

Note where the leak appears
